Today is a big day for me and my family. I am at my parents’ house. We just finished a good dinner. And I just signed book #1 - their copy of my book. Our book.
My copies arrived today. It’s a weird feeling. My parents gave me a celebratory gift and a lot of hugs. And I feel the love. But for some reason, and even though I have boxes of books in front of me, I am not in as much celebration mode as I would have expected. I am smiling, but there is too much left to do.

And I’m sure there a lot of other things on the list not coming to me right now.
But, my books are here! We’ve come a long way – starting on the road without a true direction other than driving and interviewing. Then some emails and media coverage guided me to share the stories. And then the process of writing and editing and agents and publishers. It’s been an amazing experience.
I guess a new chapter starts today. I am no longer a writer. I am an author.
