5/20/10Last night my brother in law and I went to the Rochester Red Wings baseball game. They are the AAA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Frontier Field is great, but we were there to watch the opposing team’s pitcher. Stephen Strasburg is on the Syracuse team (AAA of Washington Nationals). He was the #1 pick in last year’s Major League Baseball draft and from what everyone is saying, he could be the next big thing in baseball. It was a beautiful night and we snuck in a packed house via standing-room-only seats. Lucky for us, one of my friends, Jim, a good pitcher in his own right, was there with his dad and they had some extra tickets. My BIL and I went from standing room only to a suite with food and drink, then to seats behind home plate.
Anyway, in-between seat changes, I struck up a conversation with a fan who happened to be a writer for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle newspaper. He wrote about the fan frenzy today and my name was mentioned. Cool stuff. Here is the link:
